Note to consider
This chat room requires a unique User ID and Password. If you do not
have a user ID and password from Web Broadcast System (WBS) loacated at
http://pages.wbs.net/webchat3.so?join.x=78&join.y=35
to get one. Otherwise, you may go to the Inn
of the Weary Traveler.
In order to get a User ID and Password, you will need the following:
- Choose a Handle. This is how you will be universally known on WBS.
Note that you can have your include letters and nubers.
- A password. This password like any password will allow you to access
your WBS account. Like with any passwords, you should make it simple to
remember, but not too easy ie: DOB, your name, and common things in your
life.
- Your e-mail address. This is the e-mail address that you will receive
your WBS information including the activation process. Note you can change
this anytime after the account
- Your Password again. This is to verify that you have typed the Password
correctly
- Your Zip Code. Don't ask me why, but they want it and you have to give
it.
Other information is asked, but answering them is optional. You will
then recieve an e-mail on how to activate your account. You should also
be able to just reply to the e-mail you received and everything will be
okay. Just keep the e-mail address until you actually use the new Handle
and Password.
Also, you may want to use a new e-mail address whenever you frequent
the Inn. The reasons for this may be any of the following:
- Easier Manageability. You can make up e-mail addresses for each handle
you have with WBS and know who deals with what.
- Assurance of Privacy. Imagine mommy reading the e-mail of how you beat
the evil dragon followed by a band of orcs. Well let's just say you won't
be on in a while.
- Confidentiality. Some people may not feel comfortable with giving their
e-mail address out. This is a good way of deciding who gets what address
without hurting any one's feelings
- When you move from your ISP, your friends won't loose you. Unless you
get a forwarder e-mail address, you will have to let everyone know that
you're changing e-mail addresses. Geocities offer their e-mail services
in both POP3 and forwarder. Hotmail and Netaddress will require Internet
Access to use them, and Juno is proprietary and can't accept download/upload
features that most can
- A name to match the character. Having a unique e-mail address to the
character such as http://www.geocities.com
- Try Hotmail, although you can't loose the account if you beg them too.
They can be found at http://www.hotmail.com
- There is also NetAddress at http://www.netaddress.com
- Last, there's Juno. You do have to live in the United States, but not
everyone is perfect They are at http://www.juno.com
